This is a blog post we are not happy to write: we are gradually introducing new 100 % plant-based conventional (= non-organic) versions… we will eventually suspend organic references, and raise their prices. Here is why.
1. Our production costs are rising, especially for organic
We have been saying this in our communications for several months… and we are not alone: we are seeing cost inflation at almost every level.
This particularly affects organic products, and we will have to raise prices on those references.
Starting with Organic Cocoa (for which we offer a Vegan Cocoa alternative), on 15 May 2026 (evening), prices for organic references will increase by about 10 %.
We are holding prices on Almond, Red Fruit and Carrot until Monday 1 June 2026 (morning).
2. Difficulty sourcing organic plant proteins
For the past 7 or 8 years, while developing 100 % plant-based versions, we have not been able to find organic plant proteins that are also very pleasant to taste.
The difficulty seems to come from the organic market (technical ingredients) not being developed enough.
For the types of ingredients we need, the market is fairly developed in conventional, but very small in organic: less than one tenth, and much less depending on the ingredient.
We already struggle to find satisfactory ingredients and suppliers for organic in general, but when we move to technical ingredients it becomes even harder.
I will not go into detail in this post, but in short we cannot launch references that are both organic and 100 % plant-based while meeting our requirements for protein content (and amino acid profile) as well as sensory quality (~ taste).
3. Gradually opening 100 % plant-based… and suspending organic 🥺 😖
Given our difficulties sourcing well in organic and our wish to open 100 % plant-based references, we have chosen to gradually introduce 100 % plant-based conventional (non-organic) versions.
We will take the time needed to stabilise these versions before gradually suspending organic lines, which are costly for us. Keeping both in parallel would increase our costs further.
4. Outlook on organic
We will be glad to keep (or relaunch if suspended) organic versions. For now we are suspending them because the economics do not work: volumes too small, margins too thin, sourcing too difficult.
We are talking with players in the organic supply chain, but feedback so far is mixed; many are struggling themselves.
